Rosemary Sarah Welch Exh : A.A.E.A., S.E.A.. Rosemary was born in Wiltshire England, but lived in America until she was fourteen with her mother who was a Slade trained artist and illustrator. On returning to England, she studied under the supervision of Leonard Fuller, R.A, R.O.L., at the St. Ives School of Painting, before moving to the New Forest in Hampshire. She loves horses and all things equestrian which have reflected strongly in her work since 1980. An owner of a beautiful horse she rides and walks regularly in the New Forest getting inspiration for her very original paintings. Rosemary's paintings are painted in oil on canvass unless otherwise stated, as unlike many artists she is just as comfortable with pastels or water-colour. She has exhibited abroad, especially in Australia and America, and has recently returned from the American Academy of Equine Art, in Lexington, Kentucky where she teaches. Rosemary has exhibited at the Society of Equestrian Artists in London and much closer to home at Robert Perera Fine Art, in Lymington, Hampshire, recently, successfully selling many of her paintings. |
