CLAUDE FLIGHT (1881-1955)

Biography

Claude Flight was one of the leading artists to experiment with and popularise the technique of linoleum cutting and printing. He studied art at the Heatherley School of Fine Art from 1913-1914. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Paris , the Royal Society of British Artists. and the Redfern.

Grosvenor School

Claude Flight was a member of the the Seven and Five Society in 1923. Members included Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth. He taught at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art from 1926 his pupils included Lill Tschudi, Cyril Power, Eileen Mayo and Sybil Andrews.
