David COBB P.p.r.s.m.a. (1922-2014)
Biography
David Cobb was born in 1921 and is a painter in oils of “everything, of any period, that floats”. From 1941-42 he served in Atlantic convoys as 1st Lieutenant and between 1943-45 commanded MTBs becoming Control Officer MTBs in the North Sea. David Cobb started painting professionally in 1946 at Newlyn. He moved to Brockenhurst, with his wife Jean who was also an artist and glass engraver, in the New Forest in Hampshire, in the 1950’s and died in 2014.
